How to move games to a PS5 SSD

Quick answer

Open Settings, Storage, choose where the games are now, select Games and Apps, tick the titles and choose Move. PS5 games can move between console storage and the M.2 SSD and still be played from either. Moving a PS5 game to a USB drive stores it there until you move it back.

Moving games to the M.2 SSD

  1. Go to Settings, then Storage, then Console Storage.
  2. Select Games and Apps.
  3. Open the Items You Can Move tab and tick the games.
  4. Select Move and confirm. Large games take a few minutes.

Making the M.2 SSD the default

  1. Go to Settings, Storage, Installation Location.
  2. Set PS5 Games and Apps to M.2 SSD Storage.
  3. Set PS4 Games and Apps as you prefer: M.2 SSD or USB extended storage.
