Which requirements actually trip people up

Interface and cooling cause nearly all the problems. A SATA M.2 SSD physically fits the slot but uses the wrong protocol and is rejected, and a tall heatsink stops the cover closing. Read speed is rarely an issue, since modern Gen4 drives sit well above 5,500 MB/s.

Capacity is generous: anything from 250GB to 8TB is supported, though a 1TB minimum is sensible in the GTA 6 era and 2TB usually offers the best price per terabyte.
