PS5 SSD heatsinks, cheapest first

The limits a PS5 heatsink has to meet

From Sony's M.2 SSD requirements. A bare M.2 drive is about 2.2 to 3.5mm thick, which leaves roughly 7mm for a top heatsink and its pad.

What to look for

Two designs are sold for the console. A plate heatsink clamps onto the drive and sits under the standard bay cover. A cover-replacement heatsink, such as Sabrent's, takes the place of the metal cover and uses the whole bay as a heat spreader.

We list a heatsink from the wording of its own listing and do not measure them. Prices here run from £4.27 upward. Check the stated height, including the thermal pad, before ordering.

Height in the table is the figure printed in the listing's own title or feature list. A cooler bought separately sits on top of the drive, so the limit that applies to it is Sony's 8.0mm above the board: 8.0mm or under earns Fits PS5, 8.0mm to 11.25mm is flagged Check total height with your drive, and more than 11.25mm is Too tall. Of the 61 listed today, 11 fit, 5 need checking against your drive, 5 are too tall and 40 state no height. Remember that the drive's chips and the pad share that 8.0mm with the cooler. A heatsink right at the limit is only safe if its stated height already counts them.
