Heat and the PS5 Pro
The Pro's expansion slot is the same Gen4 slot with the same heat dissipation requirement. Nothing about the Pro calls for a bigger heatsink; a low-profile one that fits is all that is needed. The wider list, including unverified heatsinks, is on the general heatsink page.

Frequently asked questions
What ready-to-fit SSDs can I put in a PS5 Pro?
Any drive in the verified table above, bought in its heatsink edition. A fit confirmed for one PS5 holds for the PS5 Pro, because the published limits do not vary by model.
Does the PS5 Pro allow a taller heatsink?
No. The allowance is unchanged from the standard console: 11.25mm in total, split as 8.0mm above the board and 2.45mm below, and 25mm across.
How much is a verified-fit heatsink SSD for the PS5 Pro today?
Best value today: WD_BLACK SN850P 8TB PS5 SSD at £976.99 (£122.12/TB), as of 21 October 2026. The lowest price outright is £179.95, for the Kingston FURY Renegade 1000G PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD W/ HEATSINK.
Is a bare drive with a separate heatsink an option for the PS5 Pro?
It is, provided the assembled drive respects the size limits. Coolers made for the purpose are on the standalone PS5 heatsink page.
