No. Sony allows USB extended storage from 250GB to 8TB.
Which one is the best buy per TB today?
Cheapest today: Crucial X9 4TB Portable External SSD at £399.99 (£100.00/TB), as of 21 October 2026.
Which ports on the console take extended storage?
Any SuperSpeed one. The launch console's front USB-A socket is Hi-Speed only, so pick the USB-C socket or the back of the machine.
