Reading the fit badges at 8TB
We only tag a drive "Fits PS5" when its model is in the verified table. Anything else with a heatsink is tagged "Check height": it may well fit, but confirm the stated thickness is 11.25mm or less first.
At 8TB most drives are double-sided, with chips on the underside of the board. Sony allows 2.45mm below the board, which covers them, but it is one more reason to prefer a heatsink designed for the console.

Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest 8TB PS5 SSD with a heatsink?
Cheapest today: WD_BLACK SN850P 8TB PS5 SSD at £976.99 (£122.12/TB), as of 21 October 2026.
Which 8TB heatsink SSDs are known to fit the PS5?
The heatsink versions of Samsung 9100 Pro, WD_BLACK SN850X, WD_BLACK SN850P, SanDisk Optimus GX PRO 850P, Lexar Play 2280, Corsair MP600 Pro LPX. They are verified at model level, from published dimensions or the maker's statement.
How much extra does the heatsink add at 8TB?
The gap is normally small. Since a separate low-profile heatsink runs to about £8 to £12, the fitted version wins unless the bare drive undercuts it by more. Both kinds are on the main 8TB page.
Do these 8TB drives fit every PS5 model?
One set of limits covers the PS5, PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro (11.25mm thick, 25mm wide), so a drive that fits one fits them all.
