Corsair MP700 Pro and PS5 compatibility
A Gen5 drive sold three ways: bare, with an active air cooler that needs a SATA power lead, and with a water block. The cooled versions are PC-only.
One caveat applies to every Gen5 drive, this one included: Sony's slot is Gen4. In a PS5 the Corsair MP700 Pro links at Gen4 speed and its 12,400 MB/s headline figure goes unused. Buy it for the console only if it will later move to a Gen5 PC. See is a Gen5 SSD worth it for the PS5.
Will it fit under the PS5 cover?
The bay takes drive and heatsink together up to 11.25mm thick and 25mm wide, per Sony's M.2 SSD requirements. The heatsink SKU of the Corsair MP700 Pro is a tall PC cooler, so it is ruled out for the console.
Only the bare SKU appears in the table on this page. Pair it with a low-profile cooler chosen using the 11.25mm height guide.
