Cooling and fit
The WD_BLACK SN850P is only sold with its heatsink fitted, and it is built for the PS5 bay, so there is nothing to add. The bay takes drive and heatsink together up to 11.25mm thick and 25mm wide, per Sony's M.2 SSD requirements.
Higher capacities are often double-sided boards. That does not change the PS5 limit, which already allows up to 2.45mm below the board, but it does matter for clip-on heatsinks with a thin base plate.
