Quick answer

Samsung's 990 Pro and newer 9100 Pro are among the most popular PS5 drives: top-tier Gen4 speed and a clean optional heatsink version that drops straight into the bay. They sit at the premium end, so check the price per terabyte against the value alternatives below.

What this brand offers for the PS5

Samsung is known on the PS5 for the 990 Pro, a fast Gen4 drive sold with or without a low-profile heatsink, and the 9100 Pro that succeeds it. Both clear Sony's 5,500 MB/s minimum with plenty of margin.

They are premium picks. If you want a proven, fast drive and a tidy fit, Samsung is a safe choice; if value per terabyte matters most, weigh them against WD, Crucial and Lexar in the table.
