Speed will not separate them in a console: each is above the 5,500 MB/s Sony recommends. What does is official PlayStation licensing, which favours the WD_BLACK SN850P. If the 990 Pro is clearly cheaper per terabyte today, that is reason enough to choose it instead. Today only the 990 Pro has a compatible new listing in stock, at £424.87 (£212.44/TB), as of 21 October 2026.
