The PS5 Pro has 2TB built in (about 1.89TB usable as measured in reviews). Adding a 8TB M.2 SSD brings the total to about 9,890GB, room for roughly 131 big games at an average of 75GB each, against 25 on the console alone. The PS5 Pro has the same M.2 slot and size limits as the standard console, so any compatible drive carries over. Is 8TB the right add-on for a PS5 Pro?
A 8TB drive on top of the Pro's 2TB is for players who never want to uninstall. It is the dearest route per terabyte at 8TB, so check the price-per-TB column against 4TB first.
On size, the PS5 Pro follows the standard rule in Sony's M.2 SSD requirements: no more than 11.25mm thick and 25mm wide with the heatsink on. Of the 8 8TB drives in stock, 4 have a heatsink fitted and 2 are tagged "Fits PS5".
