Daily median price per terabyte of in-stock, new, PS5-compatible 2TB drives on Amazon.co.uk, from our own sync, counting one row per model and only drives rated at 5,500 MB/s or faster. As of 21 October 2026. Our verified daily record starts on 12 October 2026; earlier figures were collected with a fault in the price refresh and are not shown.
How to read the numbers above
The figures are ours, not a forecast: each day we take every in-stock, new, PS5-compatible 2TB drive on Amazon.co.uk, one row per model, and record the median price per terabyte. The verdict compares today's median with every other day in the window, so "Good" means cheaper than most recent days and "High" means dearer.
A single drive can still be a bargain on a "High" day. Judge a listing against the median shown: a drive well under it is cheap for today's market. The live ranking is on the cheapest PS5 SSD page, and the longer record is on PS5 SSD price history.
UK PS5 storage sales calendar
| Sales event | Typical timing | How deep the discount goes |
|---|---|---|
| Black Friday / Cyber Monday | Late November | Historically the UK's biggest electronics sale. In 2026 it falls in the week after the GTA 6 launch. |
| Boxing Day / January sales | 26 December onward | The second big UK sale window for storage. |
| Amazon Prime Day | July, with a second event in October | Members-only pricing on Amazon.co.uk. |
| Back to school | August / September | Smaller promotions, mostly on portable SSDs and memory cards. |
Buy now or wait?
Use the range, not a hunch. With the 10-day low at £158.59 per TB and today at £158.92, the most you would have saved by picking the best day in the window is £0.33 per terabyte, or about £0.66 on a 2TB drive. Weigh that against how long you would go without the storage.
If a purchase can wait, the sale events above are when listings most often dip under the median. Event pages: Black Friday, Prime Day and live deals. If you are buying for GTA 6, preload opens on 12 November 2026, before Black Friday: see the GTA 6 storage guide.
